Lobelia cardinalis | Cardinal Flower

Short-lived, clump-forming, semi-aquatic perennial produces upright stems with oblong leaves. In summer and early autumn it bears showy scarlet-red flower spikes. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. Good as a specimen plant, naturalizing, or for use along streams.
